C.J. Bellina took top honors in Sunshine Bass Club's seventh tournament of the year June 22.


The local club members launched their boats from Doiron's Landing in Stephenville.


C.J. Bellina took top honors in Sunshine Bass Club's seventh tournament of the year June 22.

The local club members launched their boats from Doiron's Landing in Stephenville.

They had their choice of fishing in the Atchafalaya Spillway, Lake Verret area or down in the marshes below Houma. Some of the anglers were in all of these areas.

Bellina had a five fish limit that weighed 13 lbs. 4 oz. for first place. He also had the "Big Bass" of the tournament that weighed 4 lbs. 3 oz.

There was a tie for second and third place honors when Stephen Rome and Brandon Acosta each weighed five fish limits that went 9 lbs. 8 oz.

Charles Waguespack took fourth place with a weight total of 8 lbs. 11 oz., while fifth place went to Joe Bonin with 6 lbs. 7 oz. Lester Rome was sixth with 6 lbs. 5 oz.

Sunshine Bass Club's next event is scheduled for Sunday, July 20.
