  • Seven arrests to be made after shooting

  • On Oct. 10, at approximately 1:50 a.m., deputies responded to a local hospital in reference to an individual suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Major Kevin Hanna.

  • On Oct. 10, at approximately 1:50 a.m., deputies responded to a local hospital in reference to an individual suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Major Kevin Hanna.
    Deputies identified the victim as Brent "Smoke" York, 34, of 9370 Ashland Road, Gonzales.
    During the course of the investigation, it was learned that York had several subjects at his residence when several armed subjects entered the residence demanding money. Shots were fired which resulted in York being struck.
    When deputies searched York's residence, they found a large quantity of drugs, including 5.5 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, xanax and ecstasy (MDMA).
    Investigators learned that Krystal Cedotal, 28, Cody Brown, 28, and Sasha Desormeaux, 34, and Nathan Braud, 44, were all present at the residence at the time the home invasion took place.
    Investigators further learned that Cheryl Morris, 40, an acquaintance of York's, went to the residence immediately after the shooting and cleaned the blood from the home, which altered the crime scene, according to Major Hanna.
    Cody Brown, 28, of 18438 Guitreau Lane, Port Vincent, was arrested and charged with distribution or manufacture with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, two counts possession of schedule I CDS, two counts possession of schedule III CDS, possession of schedule II CDS, and possession of schedule IV CDS. His bond has been set at $85,000.
    Krystal Cedotal, 28, of 23745 LA Hwy 444, Livingston, was arrested and charged with distribution or manufacture with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, two counts possession of schedule I CDS, two counts possession of schedule III CDS, possession of schedule II CDS, and possession of schedule IV CDS. Her bond has been set at $85,342.50.
    Sasha Desormeaux, 34, of 12150 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge, was arrested and charged with distribution or manufacture with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, two counts possession of schedule I CDS, two counts possession of schedule III CDS, possession of schedule II CDS, and possession of schedule IV CDS. Her bond has been set at $72,085.
    Cheryl Morris, 50, of 5227 LA Hwy 107, Pineville, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice (altering crime scene) and a bench warrant for failure to appear in court. Her bond has been set at $5,000.
    All were booked on Oct. 10 in the Ascension Parish Jail.
    Investigators are still in the process of identifying a female and three male suspects that are responsible for the home invasion and shooting. During the home invasion the male suspects identified themselves as "Police" and two were armed with handguns and one with a shotgun. One of the suspects was wearing a "Jokers Mask."
    Investigators have also obtained an arrest warrant on Nathan Braud, 44, of 45242 Stringer Bridge Road, St. Amant who remains at large.
    York remains in the hospital, and his wounds are not life threatening. He will be facing criminal charges upon his release from the hospital.
