Markquincy Chatman, 29, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 29, after deputies received a Crime Stoppers tip that he was at a residence in Garland, Texas, according to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre.

On Tuesday, Dec. 13, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in D’Ville Village apartments in Donaldsonville. Upon deputies’ arrival, a female acquaintance of Chatman advised deputies that he struck her in the face after an argument ensued and the female suffered a broken tooth and a busted lip, added Chief Webre.

As the investigation continued, it was learned that Chatman had committed battery on the female acquaintance before.

Chatman had been arrested 10 times with charges stemming from felony domestic abuse battery, possession of cocaine, and carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Chatman is in the Dallas County Texas jail awaiting extradition. He will be charged with felony second-degree battery.
