Chief Deputy Bobby Webre reports the arrest of Charles Smith and Ronnette Lawson who were arrested by narcotics detectives on March 30 after a joint investigation with Gonzales Police department into illegal narcotics distribution.

Detectives executed a search warrant on a residence located at 1325 N. Charles St. in Gonzales. During their search, the detectives located a quantity of heroin, ecstasy, marijuana, Xanax, legend drug, crack cocaine, a digital scale and approximately $2,100 in cash. Smith and Lawson were then placed under arrest and booked into the APSO Jail.

Charles Smith, 30, of Darrow, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute ecstasy, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute Xanax, possession with intent to distribute legend drug, possession with intent to distribute legend drug, possession with intent to distribute codeine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ronnette Lawson, 30, of Gonzales, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute ecstasy, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute Xanax, possession with intent to distribute legend drug, possession with intent to distribute codeine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.
