Ascension fund provides standing desks for students with learning and attention issues
Students with attention, learning, and fidgeting issues have been provided with standing desks at Spanish Lake Primary to help maintain better focus and longer responsiveness to classroom instruction.
Students in multiple grade levels have enjoyed having an alternative location where they can fidget out there energy in order to better be able to have stronger concentration on their lessons. After the standing desk conversion kits were ordered from Amazon, many teachers e-mailed to say they were interested in trying them in their classrooms. Several of these standing desks were set up throughout the school in both regular classrooms and in Sarah Taranto’s special education classroom.
Funds for this grant were provided by Neese Industries through the Ascension Fund. To date, The Ascension Fund has awarded approximately 1,200 grants representing over $1.4 million dollars in the school system. For more information, visit www.ascensionfund.com.
