St. Elizabeth and Ascension Council on Aging's 2017 Young at Heart – Senior Health & Wellness Expo, will be held on Friday, July 28, at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, from 9 to Noon. The event is geared toward seniors 55+ and their caregivers, and will offer a number of free health and wellness resources and screenings.
“We are proud to be able to bring such a wonderful event to the senior population of Ascension Parish,” says Jacob Balfantz, Marketing Specialist at St. Elizabeth Hospital, “With a growing senior population, it is our goal to provide education, information, and screenings to help seniors thrive in our community. We couldn’t ask for a better partner than the Ascension Council on Aging to help make this vision a reality.”
With over 50 businesses and organizations represented, there will be something to peak the interest of seniors at any age. Come and enjoy free screenings, free demonstrations, free information, and free giveaways. There will also be complimentary breakfast refreshments and plenty of door prizes!
Young at Heart is being held in conjunction with the the Garney Gautreau Senior Sock-Hop, which will immediately follow. Participants are encouraged to stay for complimentary lunch, live music, and plenty of dancing. The sock-hop is hosted by Ascension Parish Recreation and is sponsored by Lamendola’s.
