DOMESTIC ABUSE BATTERY / CHILD ENDANGERMENT / DISARMING OF A PEACE OFFICER – RODOLFO TOSCA CHAN

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Rodolfo Tosca Chan, 34, 143 Bayou Bouef Road, Morgan City, LA, on charges related to a domestic incident in Amelia early Thursday evening.

Deputies responded to a complaint of a fight involving several oriental males at a location in Amelia. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the aforementioned suspect had kicked his pregnant wife in the stomach and departed the scene afterwards.

Deputies searched for the suspect and eventually observed him driving in the area. Deputies attempted to stop the subject and that turned into a high-speed pursuit which ended up with the suspect crashing the car into a gate and fleeing on foot.

Deputies from St. Mary Parish became involved in the pursuit. At some point, Chan entered the swamp with deputies in close pursuit. The deputies tased the suspect but he continued to flee. A K-9 was then used to subdue Chan and during the struggle, Chan attempted to disarm a deputy.

Chan was arrested and transported to Assumption Community Hospital for lacerations, treated and released. Chan was then transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:

*Domestic Abuse Battery (Pregnant Victim)

*Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer

*Disarming of a Peace Officer

*Driver Must be Licensed

*General Speed Law

*No Seat Belt

*Stop Lamps and Turn Signals Required

*Turning Movements and Required Signals

*Stop Sign Violation

*Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence

The domestic abuse victim was treated at a local hospital.

Chan remains jailed while awaiting a bond hearing.

SEXUAL BATTERY – MICHAEL A. LAROSE

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael A. Larose, 55, of 223 Pecan Drive, Labadieville, LA, in connection with sex crimes upon a person with a cognitive disability.

Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to a complaint on August 30, 2017, in Labadieville, LA, in

connection with sex crimes violations.

Detectives interviewed the victim who indicated that the suspect was performing maintenance work at her house on August 29, 2017 when he committed the alleged offenses. The victim indicated that similar crimes were imposed on her by Larose earlier as well.

Larose was interrogated and indicated he did not recall the incidents as he was intoxicated. Larose was arrested on Friday, September 01, 2017. He was transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked as follows:

*Sexual Battery (Felony, 2 Counts)

*Sexual Battery (Misdemeanor, 2 Counts)

Larose was jailed pending a bond hearing.

SIMPLE BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE / JAMIE IVY

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jamie Ivy, 34, of 109 Andras Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on charges related to the burglary of an automobile.

On September 4, 2017, deputies responded to a complaint of an automobile burglary in Bayou L’Ourse. Deputies reviewed video footage from a location near where the theft occurred. The deputy recognized the subject on the video as Jamie Ivy.

Deputies went to Ivy’s home where he was located. Ivy was questioned and subsequently admitted to his participation in the burglary.

Deputies were able to recover three cell phones that were stolen from the automobile in question. Ivy was arrested, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:

*Simple Burglary (Motor Vehicle)

Ivy’s bond was set at $25,000. He remains incarcerated.

DOMESTIC COMPLAINT / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS / KATIE JO MCKEE, AMY BENOIT and RUSTIN GUILLOT

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Katie Jo McKee, 19, of 6695 Highway 1, Belle Rose, LA, on charges related to a domestic complaint which deputies responded to Wednesday afternoon. In the same case, Rustin Guillot, 27 and Amy Benoit, 27, both of 673 Highway 403, Paincourtville, LA, were issued summons.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence near Paincourtville and made contact with Amy Benoit at a location near the residence in question. From there, deputies accompanied Benoit to the residence. Once there, deputies interviewed Rustin Guillot and Amy Benoit. While questioning the two subjects, deputies located assorted paraphernalia.

Deputies also located paraphernalia and a quantity of Hydrocodone which was traced back to Katie Jo McKee by identity evidence at the scene.

In the meantime, McKee left the scene.

Deputies transported Rustin Guillot and Amy Benoit to the Assumption Parish Detention Center where Guillot was issued a summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Amy Benoit was issued a summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Mischief.

Deputies went back to the residence and Katie McKee had returned. McKee was arrested, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center. During the booking process, McKee was found to have contraband on her person. McKee was booked on charges of:

*Possession of Hydrocodone

*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

*Taking Contraband into a Penal Institution

McKee also faces a warrant in St. Mary Parish for Possession of Stolen Goods. McKee remains jailed pending a bond hearing.
