Victim was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being released.

Late in the evening on October 2, a shooting occurred in Prairieville. Afterwards, the victim drove to the nearby fire station on Antioch Road in Baton Rouge to ask for help.

The victim has not been identified by APSO. Ascension Parish Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a home on Jessica Street in reference to a shooting, according to an October 3 media release.

The release states that the victim was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being released.

APSO says the case is currently under investigation and more details may be released at a later date.
