With the end of the regular season drawing near, St. Amant dropped their final non-district contest of the year last night, as they fell to University (23-5) at home in four sets.

The Lady Gators dropped the first set, 25-16, before tying things up with a 25-20 second-set victory.

Although, University was able to close things out by winning the next two, 27-25 and 25-23.

In defeat, some of the Lady Gators put up big time stats.

Senior Baylee Rambin had a match-high 26 kills, along with 15 digs.

Freshman Gracie Duplechein had a sensational match-high of 44 assists, along with six kills. Taylor Baxter chipped in with 20 digs, and Megan Benoit had 15 digs and 11 kills.

The loss ended a nice stretch for St. Amant that saw them win four of their previous five matches.

They dropped to 16-16 overall, but they remain a solid 5-2 in district play. They’re still in a two-way tie with Dutchtown for second place.

The Lady Gators will play their final regular season game tonight, a district home game against Denham Springs.

If they win and archrival East Ascension loses tonight to Dutchtown, St. Amant will finish as district tri-champions, along with the Lady Spartans and Lady Griffins.
