A camphouse in Merryville was burglarized over the weekend. Richelle Bowman and her family discovered that their camphouse near Sand Lake Road in Merryville had been broken into with several of their personal belongings stolen.
A window was shattered leaving broken glass scattered all over the camphouse. The burglar apparently was barefoot while committing the crime because there were muddy bare footprints all around the crime scene.
According to Bowman, the crime possibly took place between last Thursday and Friday. Bowman has since contacted the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Department about the burglary and a report has been filed. BPSO also took pictures of the crime scene, and gathered fingerprints and other potential evidence.
Items stolen from the camphouse include a central pneumatic air compressor, Two 50 ft. air hoses, a DeWalt 20 volt drill, a DeWalt 20 volt quarter inch impact, a DeWalt 20 volt reciprocating saw, a Dewalt 20 volt circular saw, a Stanley Bostich 16 gauge finishing nail gun, a DeWalt electric palm sander, a DeWalt compact worksite radio, a Dewalt battery charger, several DeWalt drill bit sets, a Black and Decker palm sander, a Bosch 10 inch miter saw, and a black Craftsman Shop Vac.
Bowman has posted the list of stolen items on her Facebook page and turned it into the BPSO as well. As of this writing there have been no suspects named by BPSO in relation to the crime.
Citizens who may have any information about the burglary or the whereabouts of the stolen items should contact the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Department at 337-463-3281.
