Surveillance cameras caught him in the act before police and the public were notified to be on the lookout for him statewide by Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi.

Brandon Washington is the name of the suspected armed robber of convenient stores last week in multiple parishes, including a Marathon Truck Stop in Gonzales.

The 34-year-old man resides at 14773 Old Spanish Trail, Paradis, La. Surveillance cameras caught him in the act before police and the public were notified to be on the lookout for him statewide by Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi. Even his silver Dodge Charger was caught on tape.

Additional to the Marathon in Gonzales, he robbed a Chevron Marathon Truck Stop in St. John the Baptist Parish and the Maringouin Shell Station in Grosse Tete.

The three incidents occurred over a five-hour period between late Tuesday night and early Wednesday

morning, according to the Plaquemine Post-South.

“This guy walks in with no mask, he’s in the store a very short time and then tries to buy something. And once the register opens, he makes his move,” Sheriff Stassi told reporters last week.

Washington was transported back to Iberville Parish after his arrest in Lake Charles and was booked on one count of armed robbery. He has other places to face charges in, as well.

Sheriff Stassi praised the police for finding Washington in a press conference.
