Dear Editor,

Hello my name is Samira Lopez. I am 11 years old and a homeschool student. I belong to Ascension Homegrown 4-H.
I would like to tell you about my 4-H group.
I enjoy our group because we do some fun and amazing things. We meet every month. At our meeting we do demonstrations, crafts, games and always learn something new.
This year we have learned about forensic science, how to build a catapult, had a cookie decorating contest, and made Christmas cards.
My group had a fundraiser and raised over $200 to help a new local diaper bank, "Mother Mary's Helpers." This is a great cause, because they help families who are struggling in Ascension Parish by giving them diapers, wipes, and diaper creams for babies.
