Ascension Parish Library invites all interested persons to attend a free small business seminar, Starting and Financing a Small Business.

Literacy Tutor Information Session

In the United States more than 30 million adults cannot read or write above a third grade reading level. Here in Ascension Parish, adults need literacy skills to get better jobs, help their children with homework, and participate fully in our community. Join the Ascension Parish Library Adult Literacy Program for a Literacy Tutor Information Session to find out how you can get involved and share your love of reading with an adult in need. We will go over what’s necessary to become a tutor, how tutor training works, and the impact adult literacy has on our community. Literacy Tutor Information Sessions will be held at the Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville on August 21 at 10:00 a.m. and in Gonzales on August 23 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required. For more information or to register, please contact the Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville (473-8052) or Gonzales (647-3955).
