During the week of August 20-August 24, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

1. Darren Daigle, 3090 Lefton Ln. Port Allen, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

2. Dejuan Noel, 2619 Jordan Rd. New Orleans, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Carjacking and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

3. Leroy Miles, 502 Front St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kenneth Dupaty and Steven Tureau. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

4. Nicole Mellon, 48024 Rogers A Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Forgery and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

5. Anthony Manogin, 15013 Point Chenier Rd. Baton Rouge, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

6. Waylon Spann, 10474 Acy Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Shawn Bush and Joni Buquoi. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

Assumption Parish:

1. Dwayne Rainey Jr., 1725 Sherwood Forest Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

2. Tarik Dupaty, 128 Dupaty Ln. Belle Rose, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Sale, Distribution, or Possession of a Legend Drug without Prescription or Order (3 counts) and Public Intimidation. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

St. James Parish:

1. James Williams Jr., 10413 Legion St. Convent, LA., age 42, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
