The West Ascension voters stood up for what they believed in. The voters were given a choice, and you chose healthcare.

Dear Editor,

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the voters of West Ascension Parish who voted "No" in support of the hospital to keep our 1/2 cent sales and use tax. Prevost Hospital has been serving the West Bank and surrounding communities for over 50 years, and we plan to be here for your healthcare needs in the future. As many of you know life can change in a split second. Prevost is dedicated to continuing to provide services for those in need.

The West Ascension voters stood up for what they believed in. The voters were given a choice, and you chose healthcare. This is vital to any community. To the people of the West Bank, thank you is not enough to express our gratitude for standing with this hospital. Now Prevost can continue with the upgrades and expansion that our community needs.

Due to circumstances beyond our control the pathway to larger healthcare facilities has become less accessible, but our inflated numbers only prove that Prevost is imperative to the West Bank.

It has been and will continue to be an honor to serve as Administrator of Prevost Memorial Hospital. I am humbled by the support shown to Prevost during this trying time. There was not a day that we did not put up our best fight to keep this revenue where it is needed most. For 51 years Prevost has felt more like a home to me rather than a job. It is truly humbling to have so many loyal families supporting this hospital.

Thank you, West Ascension Parish! Prevost will not let you down!

Sincerely,

Vince Cataldo, Administrator
