The First Circuit Court of Appeal recently upheld the first-degree murder conviction of a man in the 1997 deaths of two teens, according to a release from 23rd Judicial District Attorney Anthony Falterman.

The court denied the appeal of Johnathan Fox May 16, affirming the conviction and life sentence in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence, Falterman said.

Fox, along wiith accomplices Kyle Alexander and Lance North, were convicted in Jaunary 1999 of the March 1997 murders of Clint Bonadona of Donaldsonville and Bryan Sagona of White Castle, whose bodies were found in an open field adjacent to Hwy. 70 south of Donaldsonville in Assumption Parish. Evidence showed the two died as a result of gunshot wounds.

Assistant District Attorney Donald D. Canell represented the state throughout the court process, Falterman said.
