"The screaming voices of fans is something that I need to hear regularly," says Isaac M. Chatman, a Donaldsonville resident who feels it is a prerequisite to achieve excellence in his musical craft.
"I need to feel that rush and chill down my spine."
Chatman, also known as "Array" on stage, will be taking on the biggest performance of his life on Aug. 15 as he opens for platinum recording artists, Carl Thomas and Keke Wyatt.
Son of Leana Chatman, Isaac has been pursuing an independent career in R&B since 2004 and declares that he is getting closer to success as the days go by.
He had the privilege to perform at the 2006 BET College Tour, the steps of the State Capitol and numerous showcases including various club, talent and lounge shows.
Chatman proclaims that although he sings R&B music, "it does not and will never interfere with my strong connection with Jesus Christ."
Like many fully accomplished R&B singers, Chatman started off singing solos at church. He has been a faithful member of the Christian Assembly Full Gospel Church for 16 years where Rev. Richard Rayborn Sr. is pastor and Sister Dedra Carter is co-pastor.
"It is impossible to not thank God every day of my life for my voice because without his goodness, no voice would exist," Chatman said.
Chatman declares that his journey to triumph is "ordered by God" and assures that anyone is sure to enlightened by his impressive assortment or "Array" of talent.
