Kathryn Marie Sotile Mette, 52, was a longtime resident
of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and was known as Kathy to all
of her family and friends. She passed away Friday, March
11, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Vicktor
Joseph Mette. She is also survived by her two sons, Travis
Weston Mette and Trevor Joseph Mette; mother, Yuba
Hendrick Sotile; great-aunt, Marcelle Selph, Purvis, MS;
father and his wife, Joseph Anthony and Shirley Sotile,
White Castle, La.; brother, Brian Sotile (wife, Rosemary and
daughter, Maranda, Parma, MI; and an uncle Charles M. Sotile,
Donaldsonville.
She is survived by her husband's mother and dad, Carolyn and
Kenneth West; and father Bryan Mette Sr. (Catherine); brothers-in-law
Bryan Jr., Lonnie (Laura), Leon and David Mette; Shawn West and
sister-in-law, Leeia West Day (Paul), Baxter, MN; and many cousins,
nieces, nephews, and many devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mildred Davis
Hendrick; grandfather, H.L. (Roy) Hendrick, Sr.; uncle, H.L. (Pete)
Hendrick, Jr.; grandfather and grandmother, Mickey and Lena
DeLouise Sotile; and aunt, Ethel DeLatte Sotile.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 19 at Shalimar
United Methodist Church, Shalimar, Florida.
