A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Bayou Goula, he died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical Center at age 99. He retired from ExxonMobil with 33 years of service as an instrument specialist supervisor and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Survived by three daughters, Marjorie Ettredge, Helen Gore and husband William, and Sally Banttari and husband Jack; three sons, Willie E. Robert III, James Robert and wife Rae, and Lee Robert and wife Sherry; stepson, Philip Melancon and wife Lee; three brothers, Stanley, Richard and Thomas Robert; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Willie E. Robert Sr. and Heloise Duhe Robert; brother, Elie Robert and sister, Eloise Robert Babin; wives, Helen Goette Robert and Augustine Melancon Robert; stepson, Paul L. Melancon Jr.
