Those areas are probably affected by the ocean tides a little more as far as current might be concerned but that could be a good thing. Both places are less than and hour and a half from here and have good launching facilities that are accessible from I-12.
Wesley and I got a chance to make a trip to one of the tributaries in the area for the first time just to try a new spot. It only took about 3 or 4 minutes before I felt that tap-tap on the business end of my flipping stick to set the hook on a small bass. Wesley looked at me, "Man, that's a good sign!"
Although the tide was as low as we've ever seen, the water was moving out and he was right. By eleven o'clock we boated 18 bass with the biggest one going about 3 1/2 pounds. We even caught 3 freshwater drum (gaspergou) and a choupique. So trying a new spot could be a really good thing to try. The worst you could do would probably be much better than what you'd do around home.

There's still a little time to get some bow hunting in for deer, shoot some geese under the conservation order, hunt some squirrels and rabbits but springtime fishing is about to heat up. Remember to keep the slack out and set the hook hard. So until next time, have fun in the outdoors, be safe and may God truly bless you.
