Four students from Ascension Catholic have organized "1 Power 4 Autism" to raise awareness for Autism. There are over 166 children who have autism today.

"We never thought about this disability until we met our special friend Cole Castrogovannie," said Alex Olivier.

As part as a senior project, these four guys decided to make a change and raise money to support Autism for Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge in order to help many kids in the surrounding area.

This project will impact and be a great help for the schools that the children attend and give support to the families of children with Autism.

To raise money for this project, Ascension Catholic High School students are hosting a dress down day at school where students are required to bring $1. Also, the school is hosting a holiday dance for 7th and 8th graders, and a gift basket raffle.

The four plan to educate the public about the actions of Autism and improve government to give families the help and support needed to allow children with Autism special education.

"Our project goal is to raise at least $1,500, and we plan to do this with special functions and other outlets," said Olivier.

The 1 Power 4 Autism group has been working hard to make a difference. The four consist of Jake Lejeune, Alex Olivier, Nick Ourso, and Trey Richard.

If you would like to make a donation to this cause please mail checks to 1 Power 4 Autism, 1007 Monroe Street, Donaldsonville, La, 70346.
