Dear Editor,

I noted with great interest and nostalgia your August 4, 2016 story with accompanying photograph, "Celebrating 50 years," on the reunion of the ACHS Class of 1966. I was a member of that class, having transferred to ACHS along with six other students (Erson Dorset, James Jasmine, Henry Levy, Clifton Oubre, Clinton Oubre and Allen Rodrigue) for our senior year after the closing of St. Catherine of Sienna High School in 1965. Although invited, I was unable to attend the reunion from my retirement in California.

Nevertheless I wish to congratulate all of my fellow classmates on the Golden Anniversary of what was perhaps our most significant achievement - being the first racially-integrated high school graduating class in Donaldsonville and Ascension Parish history, and the first among all Catholic school in the Diocese of Baton Rouge outside of East Baton Rouge Parish.
