Moreover, Beau Diez placed 1st for raising the most money at over $16,000. Participant Kenny Foster came in 2nd place for fundraising, and Brandon Moran placed 3rd with $15,000 raised.

Ascension Parish filled the Lamar Dixon 4-H building this year bigger and bolder than ever for the Arc of East Ascension's Dancing for a Cause fundraiser.

Saturday night, family, supporters, and fans gathered to cheer on local celebrities and their professional dance partners for an evening of entertainment and fun that went towards helping those in the community with disabilities.

Public Relations director for the Arc Sharon Morris said Monday she believed the Arc reached their goal of raising more than $150,000 dollars.

Morris said she would like to note that Liz Koh of WAFB should be recognized not only for winning the award for loudest applause, but also for the most in-kind donations towards the event.

"It wasn't money, but it was a big help," Morris said.

Moreover, Beau Diez placed 1st for raising the most money at over $16,000. Participant Kenny Foster came in 2nd place for fundraising, and Brandon Moran placed 3rd with $15,000 raised.

Moran told the Weekly he was worried about raising funds last month, but obviously his supporters came through for him. He wore a T-Shirt during his performance to honor Ward Webb, who passed away earlier this year.

Moran also earned the Fan's Choice award for the night of the event. According to Morris, Brett Arceneaux actually won the overall fan's choice award for online voting.

Next, the Judges Choice awards were given to Aimee Russo-Mounger for 1st place, Tressy Leindecker for 2nd, and Kenny Foster for 3rd.

The emcees for the night were news anchors Greg Meriwether and Cheryl Mercedes. Mercedes performed in the event last year.

Moreover, Tamiko Garrison represented Donaldsonville in the event. Last year's top dancer and fundraiser Louis LeFebrve III made a guest appearance to announce the awards:
