Do you ever feel like you don't look the best you could when you have say, the flu?
Sometimes cancer patients lose their confidence when undergoing treatment and battling their cancer.
Owner of The Crystal Chateaux, Maria Truett, partnered with Angella Lawrence to host Your Feelings Matter Breast Cancer Awareness Pampering Event on Sunday, October 28.
Truett lost a very close friend of eleven years to breast cancer, and Lawrence recently lost her mother to it. Together, they came up with a way to make survivors and those still battling feel more beautiful about themselves amidst their struggles.
"About 56 people attended the event," Lawrence said. "We had three survivors and one fighter. Many others were friends and family of a survivor or fighter. We also had an In Memory Of wall, with photos of four beautiful people who have passed in their battle against breast cancer."
Door prizes were given away at the event. There was also music, food, makeovers, and a fun photo opportunity area.
Truett and Lawrence plan to make this an annual event, and hope to see everyone at the next one in October of 2019. For more info on the Crystal Chateaux venue, call Maria at 225-348-4549.
The group thanks donors, Eustis Mortgage, The Anthony Williams A-Team; EXP Realty, The Keith Lawrence Group; Jolie Vous Salon and Day Spa, Deejay Andre’ Gonzaque, and Women's Hospital.
