Breakfast with Santa
St. Elizabeth School in Paincourtville celebrated Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The students sat eagerly to hear Mrs. Clause recite the night before Christmas. Students enjoyed games and take-home activities while waiting to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause.
Malfunction of a vehicle was the cause of this “drive in” at the Pack-a-Pack convenient store Thursday on LA 1. The driver said she put car in the correct gear but somehow it slipped out. The parking blocks were no match for her, because the car jumped over the blocks. As a result, she went thru the front of the store. Thankfully no one was injured, and there was no other damage, other than the store.
Bus Safety Training
The Ascension Parish School Board conducted a mandatory bus driver's safety meeting last Thursday. All westside school bus drivers attended a half-day training of several areas of bus safety and plans of actions. Larry Grant, supervisor of transportation, stated this type of refresher course help to keep everyone up to date on rules and regulations. This is important to everyone to learn and be ready for every situation. Pictured is Union Pacific Railroad officers giving information on railroad safety.
