Exalted ruler Lee E. Melancon III, and two members represented the Donaldsonville Elks Lodge #1153 at the 155th Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of USA Grand Lodge national convention in St. Louis, Missouri recently.

Melancon said he was greatly impressed with the charitable endeavors, especially the veterans' services offered by the 1900-plus Elk lodges worldwide.

The three-day convention, with over 6000 elks in attendance, provided attendees with opportunities to attend an exhibit show as well as seminars and workshops to learn more about Elks' programs and activities. There were many occasions to interact socially and meet fellow Elks to discuss common objectives, share information and strengthen their ties to the Order. Overall, the convention was a marathon of activities.
