Donaldsonville welcomes new Pediatric group

Children’s International Medical Group (CIMG), one of the largest providers of pediatric services in Louisiana, celebrated the opening of it’s 16th clinic with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony in Donaldsonville on May 4.

The day began atDonaldsonville High School for a student address, featuring Claudette King, daughter of late blues legend BB King. King shared her life story as an inspiration to the students that any person can make their dreams in life come true by making the right choices and working hard. She also answered questions from the students about what it’s like growing up as BB King’s daughter.

After the student address, a live radio remote from Children’s International Medical Group-

Donaldsonville Clinic was hosted by KKAY radio featuring VIP guests. The ribbon cutting was held Wednesday afternoon with door prizes and refreshments provided by CIMG.

Following the ribbon cutting, CIMG and KKAY Global Radio is sponsored a Donaldsonville Gospel Competition at the Liberty Christian Community Fellowship Church in Sorrento. The judges were Claudette King, Harvey Watkins, Jr (Canton Spirituals), Ester Wooten (National Gospel Promoter), Kenny Matassa (Parish President of Ascension Parish), Leroy Sullivan (Mayor of Donaldsonville), Troy Brown (LA State Senator) and Pastor Freddie Allen (KKAY Global Radio).

"CIMG is sponsoring this Gospel Showcase as a way to give back to the Donaldsonville Community and is pleased to bring in such wonderful role models for children from the area," a press release noted. "We look forward to celebrating the opening of our 16th clinic and future Rural Health Clinic that will serve as Donaldsonville’s only Pediatric Clinic."
