On Saturday April 30, over 75 volunteers from the Gonzales area LDS Church helped clean the interior of the River Road African American Museum's Rosenwald School> Volunteers restored woodwork and painted the main building and benches in the Jazz Plaza and replanted the Freedom Garden.
The church mission group served jambalaya to all the volunteers. Mayor Leroy Sullivan and Councilman Lathaught Delaney stopped by to thank everyone. Board Member Gerard Preyan and Board President Linda Hill represented the RRAAM.
The project was not finished due to rain, but volunteers promised to come back and finish within the few weeks.
