A member of the Morgan City chapter of the Red Hat Society visited the River Road Africana Museum this weekend. Amazed at the things they learned, the group made reservations to do another tour and this time included their children and other family members to join them.

How important is home health and hospice care for your sick loved ones? That was the question presented to members of the Rotary Club last week by representatives from Amedisys Home Health. Informing members of how to get the proper service is something family members have to express to the patient doctor. Often patients are not getting the extensive or proper service that they are in need of. It is up to the family to make sure the doctor has prescribed in full detail the service home health and/or hospice care should be attending to your loved one. Both of these type services generally only provide up to six months of care and are only part-time and not something designed for long term care. If the patient is in need of 24-hour attention, it is the responsibility of the family to assure that this care is given. Rotarian Casey Kennedy provide the guest speaker for this week’s program.
