Rotary News

Donaldsonville Rotary Club and the Greater Ascension Rotary Club will be giving backpacks to students at Donaldsonville Primary School on Monday, August 6, 2018. This is the second year the clubs have joined together to sponsor this event. We ask that you come to the school to receive these backpacks that will be filled with supplies and snacks for the children. Rotarian Gasper Chifici was the speaker at last week meeting, providing information on the items that will be provided in each backpack. Approximately 250 backpacks will be available for distribution to students.

"We know we cannot reach every child," Chifici stated, "but we are grateful that we are able to give to some."

Donaldsonville Rotary Club made a presentation to Rotarian Matt Leblanc on receiving his Paul Harris Foundation Award. Donaldsonville Rotary Club meets every Thursday at noon at Café Lafourche, 817 Veterans Blvd. in Donaldsonville, La.

Always Learning

A group of students and parents with TBA (Thoughts Before Actions) youth organization visited the River Road African American Museum last week. The group was excited to learn some history of Donaldsonville and all of the other information obtained during their visit.

Women's Day

Minister Jessica Geason was the guest speaker at the Emmanuel Baptist Church annual Women's Day program. The theme was “Women Walking in Spiritual Alignment with God.” This all coincides with this year's message of the church: “Spiritual Alignment.”
