Capitol Bar and Grill Restaurant, located in Donaldsonville's historic district, is the newest edition on the block. Owner, Jarvis Green and his family celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, Friday, September 24.  The word has spread quickly that something interesting is happening here.

Friday was filled with lots of fun and entertainment. The wait staff supplied several signature dishes and mixed drinks for all invited guests.

The restaurant was housed with many special guests including: New Orleans Saints Players, Skylar Green, Randall Gay, Seattle Seahawks Howard Green, NY Giants Corey Webster, and many others.

The Capitol has been converted into a cozy and relaxing sports-related environment. Enjoy the tantalizing southern recipes, the mixed drinks, the wine tasting area, and the pool table area. Not only is the Capitol a place to catch the latest news on sports, or to simply enjoy the afternoon game, but one can also enjoy a fine dinner with a significant other with relaxing sensual music that surrounds the restaurant.

The Capitol is designed to feel like a neighborhood kind of place, but in an urban setting.

What makes this restaurant different from others is the level of ingenuity and innovation behind what seems to be simple preparations. The Capitol is the first of its kind in Donaldsonville, with hopes of expanding in the future.

While the restaurant is targeted to a broad spectrum of patrons including business people and blue collar workers, you are likely to find young people, old people, white collars, blue collars, construction workers, guys and girls altogether, all enjoying a fresh, value priced quick service meal with various entertainment. Designed with a sports bar décor reminiscent of the restaurants one will find in bigger cities, The Capitol starts each day with completely fresh handmade dishes to delight its guests.
