2013 Assumption Parish Livestock Show

Assumption 4-H Livestock held its annual parish livestock show on Saturday, January 19, 2013. The show was judged by Shawn Zeringue. Shawn was a member of the 2008 LSU livestock judging team and is currently a 4-H agent in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Results of the show:

Sheep: Grand Champion – Mackenzie Castro; Reserve Grand Champion – Saulden Daigle; Showmanship (age 15 & older) - Saulden Daigle; Showmanship (age 11 & under) – Mackenzie Castro; Overall Champion Showmanship - Saulden Daigle.

Breedin Goats: Champion Commercial Doe – Shelby Giroir; Champion Percentage Boer – Austin Landry; Reserve Champion – Austin Blanchard; Champion Purebred Boer – Todd Landry; Reserve Champion Purebred Boer – Dina Crochet; Champion Buck – Todd Landry; Reserve Champion Buck – Todd Landry; Supreme Champion Doe – Todd Landry.

Market Goats: Grand Champion – Mackenzie Castro; Reserve Grand Champion – Todd Landry; Showmanship (age 15 & older) – Carly Boudreaux; Showmanship (age 12-14) Austin Landry; Showmanship (age 11 & under) – Shelby Giroir; Overall Champion Goat Showmanship went to Austin Landry. Other goat exhibitors – Alexis Blanchard, Ethan Giroir, Peyton Hendrix, Landon Landry, Lauren Landry.

Dairy: Champion Commercial Dairy Heifer – Emily Rivere; Grand Champion Jersey – Philip Landry; Reserve Champion Jersey – Michael Landry; Supreme Champion Dairy – Philip Landry; Showmanship (age 12-14) – Michael Landry; Showmanship (11 & under) – Landn Rivere; Overall Champion Dairy Showman – Michael Landry. Other dairy exhibitors – Madalyn Landry and Haydn Rivere.

Steer Show: Grand Champion – Dina Crochet; Reserve Grand Champion – Landn Rivere; Showmanship (age 12-14) – Dina Crochet; Showmanship (11 & under) – Gabrielle Boudreaux; Overall Champion Beef Showman – Dina Crochet. Other beef exhibitors included Annie Alexander.

Swine: Grand Champion – Mackenzie Castro; Reserve Champion – Chance Borne; Champion Swine Showman – Mackenzie Castro.

Congratulations to all our exhibitors on a job well done. They will now move on to the District Livestock Show on January 29-31 and State Livestock Show on February 8-16 at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA. A special “Thank You” to all our contributors who helped make our show such a success.
