Living in Peace instead of Resting in Peace

We would like to invite you to a “Live in Peace” ride. The funeral homes from throughout our area are going to get together and convoy through Donaldsonville in hearses and funeral cars promoting living in peace as oppose to resting in peace. We would like to initiate a war against violence in our community. The Louisiana Funeral Directors and Morticians Association hosted a Stop the Violence ride during the Convention last month in Shreveport. It was a great success. With all that’s going on in our neighborhoods today I would like to accomplish the same success. The ride will begin at Demby & Son Funeral Home, located at 900 Magnolia St., Stopping at City Hall to receive a proclamation and walkers will join the procession then we will proceed to Williams and Southall Funeral Home located at 101 Loop 945 St. Street Legal Riders and Nubian Cruisers Motorbike Clubs will lead the procession. There we will have a brief forum stating the purpose of this ride to the community and media. Motor bike, social clubs, other city officials and community leaders have donated food, drinks and give a ways for the children and community. We have received permission from our Mayor, City Council and Sheriff's Office for this ride to take place on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. Please join us as we reclaim our streets of Donaldsonville.
