An evening Stroll

DONALDSONVILE –The annual Avenue Evening Stroll was held in historic downtown Donaldsonville on Nov. 21.
Merchants around the Parish gathered in Louisiana Square, Railroad Ave. and Mississippi St. for the cultural and shopping event, where everything from wreaths to handmade soaps and lotions were sold.
Prairieville resident Lydia Brown, owner of Trois Soeur Savon Soaps, said she returned to her hometown of Donaldsonville to try her hand at art and crafts shows, with this being her first time at the Stroll.
“I needed to find a place to wet my feet in the craft festivals,” said Brown. “So I can get started and get my name out and let people know what I am doing and try to offer some healthy products.”
This year’s event included an array of performances by Ascension Catholic Church Choir, Donaldsonville High School Band, The Michael Foster Project, Chosen Ones Dance Troupe, Emmanuel Baptist Church Dance Troupe, ACHS Anything Christmas, Alexia and Ashlyn Carbo, Nakita Gibson, King PaKa Yae Band featuring Van Broussard and Rosehill Church.
