Lowery Elem. welcomes new assistant principal

Staff Report
Lydia Mabile has been named assistant principal at Lowery Elementary.

Four new assistant principals were introduced at last week's Ascension Parish School Board Meeting – Carlotta Williams at Duplessis Primary, Robyn Simmons at Dutchtown High School, Moquita Chretien-Winey at Gonzales Primary and Lydia Mabile at Lowery Elementary.

Originally from Thibodaux, Lydia Mabile has taught for 20 years in Ascension Public Schools. She began as a second grade ELA teacher at Dutchtown Primary before moving to Duplessis Primary and teaching third grade. Eight years ago she started teaching in Donaldsonville as a master teacher at Lowery Intermediate for two years and spent the last six years at Donaldsonville Primary.

She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Nicholls State University, a master's degree in educational leadership and is a national board certified teacher.

"It is a honor to continue to work in Donaldsonville where all of my work has been as a master teacher and where my heart is. I have an intrinsic desire to make a difference within the community and our students. In joining Principal Daigle and the existing team at Lowery, I know that great things are to come, and we are going to work very hard to have all children succeed," Mabile said.
