Assumption 4-H welcomes new program

Staff Report

Assumption 4-H is very excited to announce the start of a new program, Shooting Sports. Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports is one of the fastest growing programs in the state. 4-H Outdoor Skills\Shooting Sports is a program that helps to develop a safer and more responsible hunter and firearm handler. It is exciting and involves activities at many different levels; from the beginner to nationally competitive shooters. Also, Outdoor Skills\Shooting Sports is safer and has had fewer accidents than football, baseball and basketball combined.

The mission of the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Program is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes so that they may become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society. The program is designed to assist youth in learning safe and responsible use of shooting equipment.

Assumption 4-H is offering an Archery Program. The program is driven by 4-H volunteer leaders who donate time and talents to better the youth of Assumption 4-H. The members will participate in the 4-H Southern Regional Shoot, April 7 to April 10, 2016 in Gonzales.
