St. Luke AME celebrates new stamp

     The St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church, 300 Oak St., Donadlsonville, gathered at the U.S. Post Office to commemorate the issuance of the Black Heritage Stamp celebration AME church founder, Richard Allen. Bishop Allen was the first bishop of the AME Church, which began in Phila., Penn. in 1787.

     St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church, where the Rev. Marvin Dixon is pastor, was founded in 1891 and will celebrate its 125th anniversary on April 24 at 9 a.m.
