  1. Learn about medicare basics: On March 31 at 6 p.m., the Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville will host a seminar aimed towards educating residents about the basics of Medicare. Beryl Mitchell of the Capital Area Agency on Aging will be in attendance to answer questions about anything from sign-up to which plans best suit specific needs.   2. Attend a crawfish festival: The South LA Crawfish Boil, Craft and Car Show will be held at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center on April 2 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event benefits the Dreams Come True foundation and will feature a crawfish boiling contest and jambalaya cook-off. There will also be live entertainment, over 150 craft booths, kids rides, a petting zoo, karaoke contest, a silent auction and more. 
  3. Take the family to Music in the Park: On April 3, the City of Gonzales will feature its free spring concert series. The first musicians of the four-part series will be Louisiana LeRoux. The event will be held at Jambalaya Park, 1015 E. Cornerview, Gonzales, from 2 p.m to 5 p.m.
