January 2016 saw four students embark on a newly developed career pathway at RPCC Tech.

Certified

     January 2016 saw four students embark on a newly developed career pathway at RPCC Tech. These students left Donaldsonville High School five days a week and attended RPCC Tech in Sorrento for two hours daily.

     The students were trained on Basic Access Industrial Scaffolding.   Training includes instruction on OSHA for scaffolding, personal responsibility, customer service, physical fitness, roles of a high performing scaffolding team, safety, tool use, identifying different types of scaffolding and numerous activities erecting and dismantling scaffolding.

     The four students now hold certifications that guarantees jobs with a number of established, reputable industrial scaffolding contractors.   

     Congratulations Koby Bozeman, Terrance Chiquet, Jamaal Dunn, and Matthew Phillip on your completion of the RPCC TECH Scaffolding course. 

Award winner

DHS senior, Lawrence Brown, received the Cabela's 2016 Scholarship Award on April 28. Brown is also the recipient of the 2016 Eatel Technology Award, which he received on April 27.
