Three things to do this weekend

1- Attend a Swamp Pop festival: The annual Swamp Pop Music Festival will be held on July 15- 16 at the Trademart Building in Lamar Dixon Expo Center. The event will feature Swamp Pop and South Louisiana music, a jambalaya cook-off, car show, poker run and pageant.

2- Brings the kids to see Disney characters: On July 17 at the Lamann Center, 1100 Clay St., Donaldsonville, children can spend the afternoon meeting Disney characters. The event is hosted by Bright Futures and the City of Donaldsonville, and will begin at 3 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

3-Go to a free concert: A Tribute to Dave Bartholomew St. will be played on July 17 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. as part of the River Road African American Museum's Rural Roots of Jazz Concert Series.
