Lowery High School class of '66 celebrates 50 years

The Lowery High School class of 1966 celebrated their 50th class reunion Friday, July 1, to Sunday, July 3, 2016.

On July 1, a get reacquainted social was held at Port Barre Cafe in Donaldsonville. On July 2, a banquet was held at Mike Anderson’s Seafood at the Clarion Inn in Gonzales, LA. On July 3, the weekend activities culminated with a church service at Hopeful Triumph Baptist Church in Darrow, pastored by the Rev. Sidney Tobias, and later brunch at Chili’s in Gonzales.

DHS Spirit of '76 celebrates their 40th

Members of Donaldsonville High School Class of 1976 - “Spirit of ‘76” - celebrated their 40-year class reunion on April 30, at the Grapevine Café and Gallery in Donaldsonville.

The group gathered at 4 p.m. and shared memorabilia and photographs from high school, and mingled while music from 1976 played in the background. They later enjoyed a sit down meal prepared by the Grapevine and continued to mingle until closing. Afterwards the group moved on to Gaston’s Pub to enjoy more time together. Everyone really enjoyed the gathering and plan to get together more often in the future.
