City appoints Donaldsonville DDD members

The Donaldsonville City Council approved the appointments to the city's Downtown Development District Board during the regular meeting Tuesday night. The Donaldsonville Downtown Development District's new members were appointed to the board during the council meeting held Sept. 27. Mayor Leroy Sullivan, along with the city's five council members, introduced the 10 new members, consisting of Donaldsonville residents who aim to improve and preserve Historic Downtown Donaldsonville.

"We have a very diverse board, from educators to entrepreneurs to artists, pastor, you name it we have it," Sullivan said. "We are trying to make sure it's all inclusive for the City of Donaldsonville."

Board members includeTammy Dale, Stanford Knockum, Elizabeth Eure, Robert Lemann, Fitzpatrick Pitts, Lori Charlet, Tamerick Zachary, Lynn Carter, Juanita Pearley and Tamiko Francis Garrison.

"It is indeed an honor and privilege to have been appointed to the Donaldsonville Downtown Development District Board," said new appointee, Lori Charlet. "I am so humbled and proud to give back to my beautiful hometown that has been so wonderful to my family. I am even more excited to work under the leadership of my awesome classmate, Lee Melancon."
