Ascension Retired Educators Assoc. hosts spring meeting

The Ascension Parish Retired Educators Association recently hosted the LRTA District IV Spring Meeting at Rosie's Catering in St. James. Several participants on the program in which the theme was "Building a Community to Enhance Retirement Years" included Rev. Lois Lee of Mt Triumph B.C., Donaldsonville, gave the meditation followed by presentation of colors performed by Donaldsonville High School ROTC directed by Sgt. 

Greetings were given by Catherine Davis, Mayor Leroy J. Sullivan, Sr., City of Donaldsonville, Superintendent of Ascension Parish School System, David Alexander followed by a duet from Leroy and Lawanna Williams of the Greater Mt. Pilgrim B.C., Donaldsonville. The guest speaker, Judge Pegram J. Mire, Jr. of 23rd Judicial District was introduced by Janet Stewart.

Also, on program was the Executive Director of LRTA, Rodney Watson, LRTA Second Vice President, Janis Hernandez and District IV President, Dorothy Wilson.

Lunch was provided by Rosie's Catering, and door prizes were given away.
