Ascension Lodge #251 F. & A. M. gives scholarships

Ascension Lodge #251 F. & A. M. hosted an open meeting honoring two scholarship recipients. Alayna Guillot and Noah Templet of Assumption High School both received cash scholarships to use any way they see fit. The lodge gave its first scholarship in 1996. Presenting the award is Past Master John A. Landry.
Guillot has plans to study communication disorders in hopes of becoming a speech pathologist. Templet said he is heading to LSU to pursue a degree in computer science.
Junior Warden Jesse Landry gave advice to the scholarship recipients: "Give it 110 percent. Because there's going to be times when you'll think, 'How will I get through this?'"
The Donaldsonville lodge was completed in 1897. It is located in the only three-story building in Donaldsonville. It is one of the known river lodges, that were built in Louisiana to see the Mississippi River.
A meal of jambalaya and white beans was served to everyone present.
