Three things to do

1. Get the truths about weight loss: St. Elizabeth Hospital is hosting The Tooth-Fairy, Dr. Oz, and The Mediterranean Diet: Separating fact from fiction in weight loss seminar on Sept. 22 at 6 p .m. Dr. Drake Bellanger will discuss the truths and challenges with weight management and treatment solutions for weight loss.

2. Take a free ACT test: The Ascension Parish Library in Gonzales is offering a free ACT practice test on Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. The test will last approximately four hours. Students are encouraged to bring calculators. Registration is required, (225) 647-3955.

3. Learn about the new credit laws: The Ascension Business Connection is hosting a free seminar on Sept. 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital to discuss how the new credit laws will affect citizens. Donald Clement Jr., Southeast Regional Sales Manager at Credit Plus, Inc., will be the guest speaker. The event will feature a complimentary breakfast.
