Three things to do
1-Attend a Independence Day festival:The Balloons & Booms celebration will be held on July 1 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and July 2 from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the fairground in Donaldsonville. The two-day event will feature hot air balloons on Friday evening, a fashion show from Triple M Bridal, live entertainment, a children's village, Damsel in Defense Self Defense Demonstrations, food and fireworks.
2- Go to a concert: Cajun Country Jam Fair and Car Show will be held at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center on July 2. The event features rides, food and live entertainment. Performers include Clay Walker, Joe Diffie, LeRoux, the Chee-Weez, Jamie O'Neal, Andry Griggs and Rockin Dopsie. There will also be a meet and greet with Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory stars Peter Ostrum and Julie Dawn. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.
3-The Arc of East Ascension is hosting their annual Dancing for a Cause fundraiser. Dancers, which include notable leaders in Ascension Parish and surrounding areas, will dance the night away with routines such as the tango, sashay, waltz, rumba and two-step. Dancing for a Cause will be held on July 9 at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are available at LeBlanc's Food Stores, EventBrite.com and the COEA located at 1122 S. E.
