Three things to do
1- Go to a Genealogy Workshop: The River Road African American Museum is hosting a genealogy workshop on July 9 from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. The class will help researchers put their ancestors back on the historical landscape of where they lived. 2- Watch locals dance the night away: The Arc of East Ascension is hosting their annual Dancing for a Cause fundraiser. Dancers, which include notable leaders in Ascension Parish and surrounding areas, will dance the night away with routines such as the tango, sashay, waltz, rumba and two-step. Dancing for a Cause will be held on July 9 at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are available at LeBlanc's Food Stores, EventBrite.com and the COEA located at 1122 S. E. 3- Attend a culinary event: The Ascension Parish Tourism Commission is hosting their second annual Taste of Ascension from July 11-24.Taste of Ascensionwill highlight the best cuisine Ascension Parish has to offer.
