Three library events to watch out for

-Take the kids to storytime: The Donaldsonville branch is hosting pajama storytime, designed for children ages seven and under. Librarians will read stories, sing songs and make crafts to take home with the children. The event will be held on Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
-Yoga for seniors: The Donaldsonville branch is offering a free yoga class for beginners on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. Certified yoga instructor Gretchen Rothermel will be on hand to demonstrate seated yoga techniques that are low-impact, gentle and easy enough for seniors to use. Registration is required to attend, call the library at 473-8052 to reserve your spot.
-Learn about underage substance abuse: The Gonzales branch is holding a underage substance use presentation on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. A panel of experts including Lt. Kyle Hanna, Juvenile Family Services with Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office; Dr. Christopher Trevino, Emergency Room Physician with St. Elizabeth Hospital; and Suzanne Hamilton, LPC, NCC with Ascension Counseling Center will help parents learn the legal responsibilities, medical safety and concerns with underage substance use in Ascension Parish.
