Dee Dee Breaux was the guest speaker at last week’s Rotary Club meeting. Ms. Breaux addressed on this being her 44 th season at LSU as the Gymnastic Coach and some of the expectations of the team members. This is the fifth year that she and the squad has won the Tiger award for having the highest academics in team sports and giving of community services. Breaux said she tells her team, “Always strive to be number one!”

Citizen of the Year

The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce is taking nominations for “Citizen of the Year 2018.” A written letter indicating why you think your nominee should be chosen can be dropped off at the Chamber office located at 714 Railroad Avenue, Donaldsonville, LA 70346, or you can mail in it to the same address. All entries must be received by Monday, February 26, 2018. The winner will be announced at the annual banquet.

No FLU 4 U

This is the season and time to have fun and enjoy the celebrations, but remember to keep in mind the flu is out to get you. Protect yourself and small children. Clean your hands and avoid personal contact as much as possible. If you think you have the symptoms, please do not go out and make others sick. Let’s party safely and stay healthy.

Music for the Soul

Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville will host a free concert and reception Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Buena Vista Baptist Church Choir. This free event is open to the public. Reserve your seat in advance by calling the library at 473-8052.
