Staff Report

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Track and Field Association recently announced the 2006-07 All-State teams as well as the 2006-07 Academic All-State squads.

"With another tremendously successful Track season complete, it is necessary to recognize those student athletes who have excelled on the track as well as in the classroom," John Talley, the president of the Louisiana Track and Field Coaches Association, said.

Student-athletes earned the honor of All-State through their competitive marks at the State Championship meets held at LSU in May. In order to be considered All-State, an athlete's mark must be one of the top five in the state among all classes.

Champlain Babin turned in an All-State time of 39.45 in the 300 hurdles, the third fastest time recorded at state in 2008.
